Affordable Dentistry in Idaho Falls
It is no secret that dentistry can get expensive. Affordable, high quality dentistry is often not easy to find. At Oxford Dental Care, we believe that high quality dental care should be available to those who need it. Our goal has always been to keep our costs down so that we can pass the savings on to our patients. To learn more about our highly rated, affordable dental practice click here.
You will see many dental offices in the Idaho Falls community (and all over the country for that matter) that cost millions of dollars. While they do look nice, many of the costly features don’t actually add to the quality of care. It is also important to remember that someone has to cover the expenses that come with an expensive office, and more often than not, that ends up being the patients.
Our goal is to keep our office up-to-date, but not over the top. We invest in excellent equipment and quality continuing education so that we can provide excellent dentistry to our patients. This allows us to provide optimal treatment while still keeping our fees affordable.
Things to Look for in an Affordable Dentist
Quality – Do not sacrifice quality for price. If you choose to go to a dentist without looking at the reviews and getting feedback from existing patients, you may end up needing to have work done twice. While you may think you are getting a good deal, paying twice is not a good deal.
Preferred Provider – Make sure that the dentist that you choose is a preferred provider for your insurance plan. Many people ask a prospective dentist if they accept the insurance plan. The answer to that question is almost always yes. Being a preferred provider means that the dentist will bill a contracted fee to the patient. If your dentist is not a preferred provider, you could be spending a lot more money at the dentist than is necessary.
How Oxford Dental Care Keeps Prices Low
When you come into our office, you will notice that several things have been updated. We have a new sign, new flooring, new computer systems, digital x-rays, and a new (larger) waiting room. We want our patients to have the best of both worlds when it comes to cost and care.
Many of these upgrades could have been very costly, which is an aspect of what drives the cost of dentistry up, but we actually put in a lot of the labor required to keep costs down.
We knew that we wanted a new sign because when we purchased the practice, there was no way of knowing that it was actually a dental practice. There was a very small sticker on the door, but you could not see it from more than a few feet away.
Dr. Drew’s father-in-law owns a mechanical engineering firm with a large machine shop attached. Dr. Drew’s brother-in-law made the sign from aluminum using a CNC table. After the letters were cut out they were painted and assembled. The cost of our sign was $200 while many practices spend upward of $40,000 on a sign.
Dr. Drew got a discount on the flooring material through a family friend. He then installed the new floors in the operatories and waiting room himself. This saved thousands of dollars compared to having it done professionally. The flooring looks great too!
Dr. Drew’s brother is an IT person who has a passion for finding great deals just like Dr. Drew. We were able to get great computers set up for a fraction of the price that we would normally pay for a computer system. Not only does this save us time and money, it also allows us to better serve our patients.
If you have been into our dental practice recently, you will know that we have done some major updates to the layout. This includes new expanded bathrooms, a new front desk and a new waiting room. Dr. Drew loves working with his hands and has been working alongside the contractors every step of the way. This helps the remodel get finished quicker and provides cost savings.
These are just a few of the ways that we have been able to make dentistry at Oxford Dental Care more affordable for our patients. Feel free to ask any questions that you have about our fees.
